The WiSP research project found that in interviews social workers estimated that they spent between 50 and 90% of their time on writing. The project also collected some data on how much time social workers estimated that they spent on tasks involving writing and also on the time they actually spent on these tasks, based on social worker logs. Have a look at the following table which summarises the results based on 23 social workers. Is there anything that you find surprising about the results?
Estimated percentage of time spent on writing = orange
Actual % of hours which include time spent on writing = blue
